Hotel Edelweiss is conveniently located just 7 minutes from the motorway, only 10 minutes from a main-line train station and less than 1.5 hours from three airports.

Directions to Hotel Edelweiss by car:

To locate Itter on a map of Austria, look for Wörgl, which is the nearest big town. It lies directly south of Munich and half way between Innsbruck and Salzburg.

Itter is less than 10 minutes from the A12 motorway that connects with Germany and Switzerland and indirectly with Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia.

From the A12 motorway:

Take the exit Wörgl Ost and then follow signs for St Johann in Tirol. After approximately 5 km (just after a fuel station on the right and a big garden centre on the left) turn right to Itter and follow the road for 1km up to the village. Hotel Edelweiss is on the left hand side just after the fire station.

Driving in Austria:

1. Keep to the speed limits. Speeding and other traffic offences are subject to on-the-spot fines.
2. It's a legal requirement in Austria to have your dipped lights on day and night.
3. You must always carry your driver's licence, vehicle registration document, and certificate of motor insurance on every journey.
4. You must have a valid motorway sticker for driving on the motorway. You can buy one for a year, two months or 10 days at any garage or motorway service station (preferably before the border). Hire cars should already have a valid motorway sticker.
5. You must have a warning triangle and fluorescent-coloured vest on board for emergencies (these should already be in the hire car).
6. The driver and all passengers must wear seat belts.
7. In winter, snow chains and/or winter tyres are advisable (but not a legal requirement) even though the roads are kept clear of snow.

Hotel Edelweiss is within easy reach of three airports.   The closest airports are Innsbruck (50mins), Salzburg (1 hour 20 minutes) and Munich (1 hour 30 minutes).

Transfers from the airport to Hotel Edelweiss

By Taxi Transfer:

By Train to Wörgl, then taxi or bus to Itter:

There is a train station in Munich airport (beneath the arrivals terminal). The train stations in Salzburg and Innsbruck are in the city centre and there is a bus connection between the airport and the station.  More information from www.oebb.at.

By Car:

Car hire is available from the airports and is best booked online in advance. All the major car hire companies have desks at the airports.

Directions to Hotel Edelweiss by train:

Our nearest main-line train station is in Wörgl.  Wörgl is on the main route between Innsbruck and Munich as well as Innsbruck and Salzburg.

 Hotel Edelweiss is approximately 10 minutes from Wörgl train station and can be reached by taxi or bus.

(You may find that Kufstein train station is more convenient. Cub Hotel Edelweiss is approximately 20 minutes from Kufstein by taxi.)
